You may not have to wait for a long time to have darshan in this temple because most of the time this temple remains submerged in water. When there is a famine due to the wish of Mahadev, when the water level becomes very less when the river Sip dries up, then you can visit it. You can have darshan of Mahadev Bholenath.
The specialty of this place is that the Seep River forms the shape of Om naturally.
The Shivalinga here is unique in itself.
Now, for darshan for 12 months, a new temple has been built at a height by establishing Narendra Shivalinga nearby. You can visit it for 12 months but during rainy season its darshan also becomes rare.
But the darshan of the real Gupteshwar is rare and is achieved by great luck.

It is believed that there is a story behind the origin of God at this place which is quite interesting. According to which this Shivalinga is thousands of years old and it was established by the Pandavas during their exile days, when they passed through the forests of Sheopur and worshiped here. It is said that during the Dwapar era, when the Pandavas were on exile, they stayed for a long time in the Biyawan forests of Sheopur. During this time, during the establishment of Lord Shiva in the Kadawal river area, he worshiped him and only after this, this temple of God got absorbed in the Kadawal river and remained secret and was called Gupteshwar.
