Gurudwara Aaduporh Sahib Machike

Share

The Gurdwara Aaduporh is a historical shrine commemorating the visit of Guru Hargobind Ji. Guru Ji came to the site while riding his horse, where now the present Gurdwara Sahib stands. At this place Guru Ji met a holyman whose name was Aadu and asked him about the well being of the villagers. Aadu apprised GuruJi that the village faces acute water problem hence the village development was suffering .On hearing the problem, it so happened that Guru Ji’s horse struck on the ground with Porh (Horses hoof) and then water started pouring out of the earth. The water was sweet and in plenty. Thus Guru Ji blessed the place with adequate water and left for Bilaspur. The historical well is located in the Gurdwara premises. Apart from daily prayers, Prakash divas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Hargobind Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji are celebrated here with enthusiasm. Accommodation: There is a sarai of six rooms with allied services where devotees can stay during their visit to the Gurdwara Sahib.

Gurdwara Aaduporh Sahib is situated in village Machike that is about 3-4 km from the main Barnala -Moga road. It is near village Bilaspur and Himmatpur. The approach road to the Gurudwara Sahib is rough and passes through fields.
