Gurudwara Dullamsar Sahib Patshahi Nauvin

Share

History

Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji stayed in village Dhilwan for several months during his travels in the Malwa region. In the thicket about 2 km northeast of Maur there used to be a pond called “Dulami ki Dhab” where according to the local belief Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji used to come very often for his afternoon ride along the pond from Dhilwan. A shrine was established later near this pond, it came to be called Dullamsar, now called Gurdwara Sahib Patshahi Nauvin . An old narrow well on the mound is traditionally known as “Singhawali Khuhi” on well of the Singhs.

Location

Gurdwara Dullamsar Sahib Patshahi Nauvin is situated in the village Maur on a link road between Tapa and Saina. It is 5 km north of Dhilwan. Approach to the Gurdwara Sahib is through a Kacha road but it is motorable upto the destination. Village Maur also known as Dhilwan Maur to distinguish it from Maur Kalan in Bhatinda District of Punjab.
This Gurdwara Sahib is managed by local committee which is under Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee. Besides daily prayers and major religious anniversaries a Jor Mela is organized in a big way in the month of Magh in January/February. People from all over the places come and join the occasion
