Share

The main deity is Lord Dharmanath. Approximately 153 cm tall, the white idol of Lord Suraj Mandana Parshvanath is in the Padmasana posture. A nine-hooded umbrella rests above the idol’s head. This idol is in the basement of Shri Dharamnath Temple which is known as “Haathiwala Temple”.

There are several Jain temples here, and most of them are ancient. This idol of Shri Suraj Mandana Parshvanath was installed in the year 1679 by the revered hands of Shri Ratnachandra Gani, a disciple of Shri Shanti Chandra Upadhyaya, on the 5th day of the month of Kartika in the Punarvasu nakshatra.

Gopidas Shresthi had this beautiful statue of Lord Parshvanath installed. Hence, this important area where the temple is located is known as “Gopipura” after Gopidas Shresthi.

The idol of Shri Dharamnath Bhagwan was installed by the revered hands of Acharya Shri Hirvijayasurishwarji on the 5th day of the dark half of the month of Jeth in V.S. 1664. This temple is also known as “Haathiwala Temple”. Shri Vastupal Omji built a Guru Mandir here named “Hir Vihar” and installed the footprints of Shri Hirvijsurishwarji and Shri Sensurji.

This statue of Suraj Mandana Parshvanath is miraculous, impressive, attractive, magnificent, and always smiling. If worshipped with great faith and devotion, the devotee’s wishes are fulfilled.

Shri Shantidas Sheth had worshipped the “Shri Chintamani Mantra” in front of this idol of Shri Suraj Mandan Parshvanath.
