Harihar Nath Mandir Gyanpur Sant Kabir Nagar
Baba Harihar Nath Temple and Gyan Sarovar, the center of faith in the center of the city in Gyanpur, are said to have been built by King Harihar Singh during the archaeological period for centuries, but there is no historical proof of this. On all festivals, a huge crowd of devotees gather near the old historical Mahadev temple on the banks of the famous Gyan Sarovar pond. Especially during the festival of Diwali, the beautiful stairs made of lime and lime around this lake are illuminated with the light of thousands of lamps. The holy place of the temple looks very pleasant.
Regarding the name of this place being Gyanpur, it is said that during the British era, a court was opened here in today’s Gyanpur area, which was called Court. But the public kept calling it leprosy. This Kodh Nagar was later called Gyanpur Nagar after the school was opened with the courtesy of the King of Kashi. People from nearby remote areas come to this pond to worship on all major festivals. Especially a huge crowd of devotees gather for Chhath Puja and Jalabhishek. Devotees also visit the historical Baba Harihar Nath temple by offering water to the rising and setting sun in the waters of Gyan Sarovar.
