Lord Kubera Temple at Harikesanallur is located in the beautiful village of Harikesanallur near Ambasamudram in Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu. The Lord Kubera Shrine is part of the Ariyanathaswamy Temple complex, where Ariyanathaswamy is the main deity of the temple.The temple stands on the fertile banks of the Thamirabarani River, surrounded by natural greenery and a peaceful rural setting.

The Ariyanathaswamy Temple of Harikesanallur is an ancient temple believed to be around 1,600 years old. Its age, classical structural style, and the presence of rare deities inside the prakara indicate that it belongs to the early Pandya or pre-Pandya period.
Deity Details
The presiding deity is Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Ariyanathaswamy along with his consort Periyanayaki Amman, enshrined in a separate sanctum.

major attraction of this temple is the presence of a massive 4-feet tall stone idol of Lord Kubera in the northeast corner of the outer prakara.He is seated with one leg folded, holding a money bag in his hand — a very rare depiction in Tamil Nadu temples.

The temple follows a simple, ancient Dravidian architectural style, without a tall gopuram. Devotees first see the Dwajasthambam, Bali Peetam, and Nandi, followed by a mandapam leading to the sanctum. The prakara houses shrines for Surya, Chandra, Navagrahas, Sapta Matrikas, Bhairava, Vinayaka, Subramanya, and the rare Jyeshta Devi. The Lord Kubera shrine, placed in the auspicious northeast (Eesanya) corner, is exceptional because the 4-feet tall stone idol is one of the largest and most powerful Kubera icons in South India, making the temple spiritually unique.
