Adhyatmic Stories

Hear from the mouth of Lord Vishnu who is most dear to him..!!

Share

Once upon a time, Lord Narayana was sleeping in Vaikunthaloka. He saw in his dream that Trilochan Lord Shiva, having the radiance of millions of moons, wielding a trident and drum, was dancing in front of him in love and joy. Seeing them, Lord Vishnu became overjoyed and suddenly sat down and became engrossed for some time. Seeing him sitting like this, Shri Lakshmi ji started asking him, Lord! What is the reason for you suddenly waking up from sleep like this?

Lord did not give any answer to her question for some time and remained sitting silently immersed in bliss, after some time he said joyfully, ‘Devi, I just saw Lord Shankar in my dream. His image was so joyful and charming that it was worth seeing. I feel as if Bholenath has remembered me. Come, let us go to Kailash and have darshan of Mahadev.

Thinking this, both of them started towards Kailash. Halfway to Kailash Marg to have darshan of Lord Shiva, he saw Lord Shankar himself coming towards him along with Mother Parvati. Now there is no limit to God’s joy. As soon as they came closer, both of them met each other with great love.

It seemed as if a sea of love and joy was surging all around. Seeing each other, tears of joy started flowing from both their eyes. Both of them stood for some time clinging to each other. When Lord Vishnu asked Shiv Shankar, it came to light that Shankar ji also had a similar dream at night as if he was seeing Lord Vishnu in the same form in which he was now standing in front of him.

After coming to know about the details of their dreams, both of them started requesting each other to take them to their residence. Narayan said to go to Vaikuntha and Bholenath said that we should proceed towards Kailash. There was so much supernatural love in the urge of both of them that it became difficult to decide where to go?

Just then we saw that Narad ji appeared from nowhere playing the Veena and singing Harigun. Just what then? Both of them tried to get him to decide where to go? Poor Naradji himself was upset after seeing that supernatural meeting. They themselves forgot their conscience and started singing praises of both of them in high spirits. Who should decide now? In the end it was decided that whatever Bhagwati Uma says is right.

Bhagwati Uma remained silent for some time at first. At last she addressed both of them and said, “O Nath, O Narayan, seeing the constant, exclusive and supernatural love of you people, it is clear that your abodes are not separate, Kailash is the same Vaikuntha. And the one who is Vaikuntha is the same Kailash, there is a difference only in the name. Not only this, it seems to me that your soul is also the same, only the body is visible.

It seems clear to me that your wives are also the same. Whatever I am, that is Lakshmi and whatever Lakshmi is, that is I. Not only this, I have now become a firm believer that whoever bears hatred towards one of you, it is as if he bears hatred towards the other one. Whoever worships one, it is as if he worships the other also. I definitely think that the one who believes in the difference between you two, faces severe downfall in the long run.

I see that by making me your mediator in this matter, it is as if you are tricking me, putting me in confusion, and making me forget. Now it is my request that both of you go towards your respective worlds. Shri Vishnu should understand that we are going to Vaikuntha in the form of Shiva and Maheshwar should understand that we are going to Kailash in the form of Vishnu.

Hearing this answer, both of them became very happy and praising Bhagwati Uma, both of them bowed to each other and departed to their respective worlds with great joy. When Shri Vishnu returned to Vaikuntha, Shri Lakshmi ji asked him, “O Lord, who is most dear to you?”

Lord said, “Dear, my beloved is only Sri Shankar. He is dear to me like my body to the embodied ones without any reason. Once both I and Sri Shankar set out to roam on the earth. I set out in search of my beloved with the intention that only my In the same way, the one who is wandering from country to country in search of his beloved will be dear to me without any reason.

After some time I met Shri Shankar ji. In reality, I am Janardan and I am Mahadev. There is no difference between me and them, like water kept in two different pitchers. Apart from Shankarji, the devotee of Shiva who talks about Shiva is also very dear to me. On the contrary, those who do not worship Shiva can never be dear to me.

In this way, the one who worships Shiva is accepted by Vaikuntha resident Vishnu and the one who worships Shri Vishnu also accepts Tripurari..!!

Jai Shri Krishna
