Share

Ichha Puran Balaji Temple is a very attractive and beautiful temple of Hanumanji outside Sardarshahar town in Rajasthan. The temple is home to one of the most beautiful statues of Hanuman in which he is seen in a sitting pose and blessing his devotees. The entire temple is constructed in Dravidian style.

The idol installed here has Lord Bajrang Bali sitting on the throne, which is the only idol of its kind. This is the only temple in the world, in which Balaji’s idol is in the shape of the royal court and Balaji is sitting in the posture of blessings as the king.

Legend

According to a popular legend associated with the temple, during the construction of a canal, the idol of Lord Hanuman was discovered at the site. Attempts were made to relocate the idol, but it became unexpectedly heavy. This was interpreted as a divine sign that Lord Hanuman desired to be worshipped at that very spot. Subsequently, a magnificent temple was constructed around the idol.

Daily prayers, aarti (devotional rituals with lamps), and soul-stirring bhajans (devotional songs) are performed at the temple. Tuesdays, Saturdays, and the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti witness a significant influx of devotees. During Hanuman Jayanti, the temple is adorned with colorful flowers and radiant lights, creating an atmosphere of celebration spiritual fervor.
Although it is the temple of Balaji’s wishes, Sardarshahr attracts devotees throughout the year, but in Basant Panchami, the annual fair gets packed here. In it you see the enthusiasm of Balaji’s devotees.
