Jharkhandi Mahadev Mandir Khari Bijnor
Swayambhu Shivalinga is established in Jharkhandi temple.
Swayambhu Shivalinga is installed in the Jharkhandi temple near Khari-Dharmapura. The history of Jharkhandi Shivalaya is several centuries old. No one knows when the temple was built. From generation to generation the elders have been saying that it was made before us. It is only said that at that time Khari was owned by Maharshi (upper Brahmin class). On Mahashivratri, a crowd of Shiva devotees gather for Jalabhishek. Here the wishes made with true heart are fulfilled.
Jharkhandi temple may be four hundred years old. It is said that during the tenure of Maharishi people, there used to be a tree at the temple site. To make the land suitable for farming, Maharshi’s district collector employed laborers for cleaning. During cleaning, a Shivalinga-like stone was seen in the ground. The workers dug deeply, but the end of the stone was not visible. The worker’s shovel hit the stone. As soon as the shovel hit the stone, a stream of milk-like liquid came out. This news spread like wildfire in the area. As many mouths, so many words. People started considering it a miracle. Meanwhile, the news of Shivalinga emerging from the ground reached far and wide. People started worshiping. Offerings started pouring in there. Then seeing the faith of the devotees, Maharishi started building a temple at this place.
It is said that from then till today the size and length of Shivalinga keeps increasing every year. At present the length of Shivalinga is three feet and thickness is 1.5 feet. The mark of the shovel left on Shivling during digging is still present. Devotees believe that the wishes made with a true heart in the temple definitely get fulfilled.
