Kalyan Kedareswar Mandir,Harsora Ratlam Madhya Pradesh

Share

This temple is very special, the consecration of Shiva is done from the waterfall in the first rain.

This temple is near Sailana village, about 25 kilometers from Ratlam. Being surrounded by hills, it looks like heaven in the rains. At this place surrounded by high hills, water seeping from the surrounding rocks collects and then starts falling in the courtyard of the temple in the form of a waterfall. When rain water falls from a height into the pond located near the temple, the small colorful drops of water provide a rainbow glow to the atmosphere. This temple is about two hundred and fifty years old and it also has its own historical importance.

The Shivalinga present here is natural. It is said that earlier there used to be only one Shivalinga here. In 1736, Maharaja Jai Singh of Sailana built a beautiful temple here and later this temple became famous by the name of ‘Kedareshwar Mahadev Temple’. Every year a fair is held here on Mahashivratri, Vaishakh Purnima and Kartik Purnima. In the month of Sawan, a fair of Kavad Yatris is organized here. A large number of Kanwar pilgrims and devotees come here and perform Jalabhishek of Lord Bholenath. In the month of Shravan, a large number of Kavad pilgrims and devotees come here and perform Jalabhishek of Lord Bholenath.
