SRI-KAMACHI-AMBAL-TEMPLE HAMM

The Hindu Sri Shankarar Kamadchi Ampal temple is the largest temple in south Indian style in Central Europe. Thanks to the various reports in the national print and online media are also numerous other faiths to the audience of the temple. The temple is now planning the construction of a cultural center. Effective integration work and cultural exchange for all the people are here in focus. Especially for young people of the present generation, the cultural center will contribute to the understanding of their own culture and the related traditions.

A basic idea is; that young people are not as yet accept indiscriminately the advice of one or the other in terms of Hindu customs, but fundamentally follow the ONE correct tradition. Our cultural center is teaching and meeting rooms for training sessions include . Also a library, a small museum as well as a hall for traditional major events should be integrated. This project is of course only with high costs realizable. Since our temple is funded entirely by donations, we also depend on this project by donations.

Our Sri-Kamadchi-Ampal Temple in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Hamm is since completion and inauguration on 7 July 2002, the largest Dravida temple in Europe and by the built in north Indian Nagara style Neasden Temple in London the second largest Hindu temples in Europe at all. the annual temple festival, in which part of a procession the statue of the goddess Kamadchi surrounded the temple and also blesses the city and the people living in it, visiting more than 25,000 believers and visitors from around the world. For NRW-Hindu community includes more than 5,000 people, about 60,000 Tamil Hindus total live in Germany.
