Kathoutia Shiva Temple is more than 200 years old

The history of Kathoutia Shiva temple is very old. This temple was built by Late Bakhouri Saav about two hundred years ago. Earlier a saint lived in a hut near Kathoutia. After the death of the saint, his mausoleum was built there.

After the death of the saint, his mausoleum was built there. The saint’s tomb is still intact. Later a pagoda was built next to it. Along with this, one acre of land was also donated in the name of the temple. Apart from this, a pond and well were also built next to the temple. That saint had said that after my death I should not be burnt but should be buried at this very place.

Kathoutia Shiva Temple is a center of reverence for the city residents. This temple attracts the maximum crowd of devotees during Shivratri and Sawan. Here people have been worshiping Samadhi along with worshiping Lord Shiva. Mahamela and Akhand Kirtan are organized here every year on the occasion of Shiv Ratri. People have great faith in this temple.
