Kedareshwar Dham of Pohari, where nature itself performs Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva every 12 months.

Madhya Pradesh’s first tourist city, Shivpuri, is situated at a distance of 33 km from the district headquarters, the natural place ‘Kedareshwar Dham’, which is situated on the Shukla River, just 3 km from the Pohari Tehsil headquarters. The lush green forests and hills located here add to the beauty of this natural place. The temple of Kedareshwar Mahadev situated in the middle of the hill, in which the ancient Shivalinga of Lord Shiva is built inside a small natural cave. And on the upper part of this small cave, the cool water stream coming out of the mountain performs natural Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva throughout the year, along with this, every year on the holy occasion of Mahashivratri, a religious fair is organized in which thousands of devotees gather.

The history of Kedareshwardham is said to be 500 years ago. It is said that Yogeshwar Mahadev himself is present in this ancient temple. In ancient times, Lord Shiva told the proven saint Shri Mangaldas Maharaj in a dream that I am present in the middle of the mountains in the form of a Linga, take me out, After this, Santashree immediately told the ruler of Pohari, Raja Naval Khanderao, about his wish. After which the king got the mountain excavated in which Lord Shiva appeared in the form of Shivalinga. The king immediately started the construction of the temple on the mountains. The 500 years old temple is situated on the Shukla River on the other side of which used to be Pohri, which is today known as Budhi Pohri. The ancient temple which is famous in the district and also in the state for its natural beauty. Due to the hilly side of the temple, water keeps falling continuously from between the hills. Just in front of Shiva Linga, there is a pond from which devotees perform Jalabhishek which is famous by the name of Gupt Ganga.

Gaumukh is situated on the third floor of the temple from which water has been flowing continuously for 500 years. Since this water comes from the hills and is a mixture of many herbs, it is considered like nectar for health. If people are to be believed then by continuous consumption of this water a person will always remain healthy.
