Legend has it that Lord Ram and Lakshman worshiped Lord Shiva here. There is an ancient idol of Lord Shiva in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. A brown colored Shivalinga is installed inside the sanctum sanctorum. There is huge devotion here in Saavan. The temple is of Ram period.
