Ketunga Dham Simdega Jharkhand

An ancient pilgrimage of locality.It is believed that the SHIVALINGA here is of very ancient time.Stone statues of Lord Buddha and other sculptures of Mauryan period have been found here.It is believed that Lord Ramchandra visited this place during his VANVAS.It is also said that Emperor Ashoka stayed here for some time while returning from Kalinga expedition.It is also a SANGAMA of two rivers,Devnadi and Malgo.The place is a lovely.

Ketunga Dham situated in Bano Block is a very important historical place. Archaeological surveys of India point to this place as the land of the Buddha period. Many statues of Buddha were found in Ketunga Dham. It is said that King Ashoka, the Maurya Emperor, installed these statues when he returned to Pataliputra after the Kalinga War.
