Kotwal of Kumbh

Share

The first sacrifice of creation began in Prayag, which is the basic basis of Kalpavas. When gods, demons, yakshas, humans started coming here, to protect this area, Lord Brahma asked Lord Vishnu to protect the fair here in this area. Lord Vishnu sat here in the form of twelve Madhvas in every direction, whose names are Triveni Madhav, Shankh Madhav, Sankashthara Madhav, Veni Madhav, Asi Madhav, Manohar Madhav, Anant Madhav, Bindu Madhav, Padma Madhav, Gada Madhav, Adi Madhav, Chakra Madhav.

The responsibility of leading the twelve Madhvas was entrusted to Veni Madhav who is called the Kotwal of Kumbha.

The first Kalpavasa, which witnessed the beginning of civilization, followed by a month-long Kalpavasa, became the religion of every human being, yeti, deva, eunuch, other beings, but even today the responsibility of protecting them lies with the twelve Madhvas.

Dwadash Madhav Yatra is also taken out once in a year. It is a tradition that at the beginning of the Magh fair the form of Veni Madhav is given a tour, after that it is believed that during the Magh fair running from Paush Purnima, Veni Madhav will protect the Magh fair by roaming in the Magh fair itself. The worship of the Kalpvasis is considered complete only when they visit the Veni Madhav temple after the completion of Kalpavas.

In the temple along with the statue of Veni Madhav made of Shaligram stone the statue of Triveni ji is also there. The statue of Triveni ji is also holding the conch wheel like Madhav. Madhav is standing in the form of Vishnu but Triveni ji is sitting on a lotus. It is said that this form is a unique statue of Vishnu which is not present anywhere else.

Devotees continue to visit the Veni Madhav temple during the entire Magh Mela. In order to please Veni Madhav ji, to ensure that his grace remains on the Magh Mela, many artists also perform in the temple apart from the puja recitation.

This time when you will go to Mahakumbh then you will definitely see the Kotwal of Kumbh. After attending his Darbar at Daraganj beach, he will undoubtedly visit the fair.

Jai Shri Veni Madhav.
