AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada (1896-1977) arrived from India to New York in 1965 and in a short period of twelve years made the repetition of the Hare Krishna mantra known all over the world. He started a spiritual revolution where life is guided by devotion (bhakti), simplicity and compassion.
Srila Prabhupada belongs to the Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya disciple chain of self-realized spiritual teachers. Following the instructions of his spiritual master, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura, he brought Krishna consciousness to the West. Srila Prabhupada translated more than 70 works of Vedic philosophy into English, teaching the uncompromising Vaishnava philosophy of loving service to Krishna.
As the founder of the International Community of Krishna Consciousness ISKCON, he is the spiritual teacher of all community members through his teachings, example and books.

Different areas of responsibility – altar service, education, administration, economy, kitchen, public events, building maintenance, garden, etc. – are constantly being developed through volunteer work.
