Krishna’s arrival on earth

It is a matter of Dwapara Yuga, once the sins increased a lot on the earth. All the gods were worried. He went to Lord Vishnu with his problem.

Lord Vishnu, listening to him, reassured him and said, “Don’t worry, I will come to earth in a human form and will liberate it from its sins. Before taking my incarnation, Kashyap Muni will be born in Yadukul of Mathura and will be famous by the name Vasudev. From the womb of his second wife, my rider Sheshnag will be born as Balram and from the womb of his first wife Devaki, I will be born as ‘Krishna’. I will free the earth from its sins by killing the sinful Kshatriyas in the field of Kurukshetra.”

That time also came soon. Mathura was ruled by King Ugrasen of Yayati dynasty. Kansa was the eldest son of King Ugrasen. Devaki was born at his place. In this way Devaki was born as Kansa’s cousin. Here sage Kashyap was born as Vasudev, son of King Shurasena. Later Devaki got married to Vasudev.

Kansa loved Devaki very much. But once a prophecy was heard from the sky, “Devaki’s eighth son will be your death. Your death is certain at his hands.” From that very day Kansa became determined to kill Devaki.

This incident created an outcry all around. Many warriors agreed to support Vasudev. But Vasudev did not want war. He assured Kansa that “As soon as Devaki has a child born, I will hand it over to you.”

Vasudev did not lie. Kansa believed his words. After their explanation, Kansa’s anger subsided but he put Vasudev and Devaki in prison and imposed strict security.

As soon as Devaki gave birth to her first son, Vasudev handed him over to Kansa. Kansa killed him by throwing him on a rock. In this way he killed six sons of Devaki. When Devaki became pregnant for the seventh time, Sheshnag entered her womb with his part.
