Kunjal Mata Temple
Kunjal Mata temple is known as Kuldevi temple of the village which is also known as Deh and was earlier known as Champawat. It is believed that the existence of Goddess Mata came to light in the year 1098 AD. There are many stories about this temple. According to the local people, it is said that earlier the temple was a platform made of stone which was later built by the local people of this area.
History of Kunjal Mata
It is said that the address of Mother Goddess is visible after an incident. While getting married, two men came to her house with a wedding procession, due to which she was embarrassed and to save her family from humiliation, she disappeared into the earth. . Her brother tried to save her but he could not save her and only her scarf came in his hand and she sank into the earth and never came back.She wanted to stop the fighting between the two families, hence she did so and from then till today she is worshiped as Kunjal Mata. This temple is considered sacred and is worshiped as a Kuldevi by the Parikhos, Joshis, Lapsyas, Budhanios and many other castes. Grand programs are organized in the temple during Navratri and Dandiya is also organized by the people on Dussehra.
