Laksheshwar Temple Laksheswar, Uttarakhand
This temple is in Lakshya Swar of Uttarkashi. It is believed that Pando has built a cave here which emerges into Deradun.
Beautiful and peaceful place.. This is the place where the “Lakhshya-griha”, the temporary dwelling (of the Pandavas, of Mahabharat) was burnt down.. Near by is the Bhim-gufa, from where the Pandavas dug a tunnel and escaped their death.. People say that the mouth of the tunnel was previously just near the present day Shiva temple, but topographical changes ruined the front part.. So the rest of the tunnel supposedly continued from the Bhim-gufa site… At the very site of the Lakhshya-griha stands the present day Shiva temple. the wood of the old door of the temple was carbon dated, and found to be 2000 years old.
