Lilauti Nath Temple is the center of immense devotion.

The legendary Lilauti Nath Shiva temple located near the city is the center of immense reverence for the devotees. It is believed that the Pandavas had established Shivalinga here under the guidance of Lord Krishna during their exile. According to people, even today Shivalinga is worshiped before the doors of the temple open. Legend has it that before dawn Ashwatthama comes here to perform Jalabhishek to Shiva. Whereas some people talk about worshiping by Alha-Udal. This temple was renovated by the people of Maheva State. A fair is organized here in the month of Shravan.

Shivalinga changes color

The figure of Shivling is carved in Lilautinath Dham of mythological importance situated between Junai and the origin place of Kandwa river. In this people see the form of Mother Parvati. The special thing is that Shivlinga changes color several times a day. It is believed that black in the morning, brown in the afternoon and light white at night makes Shivling special.

A fair is held every Amavasya

Devotees often visit this place, once known as Baburi Forest, for rituals like Mundan, Janeu and Tilak. Ramcharitmanas is also recited. Devotees consider themselves blessed by taking a dip in the Sangam on the day of Amavasya. A fair is organized here on this day due to the influx of devotees.
