From waterfalls to lush green hills and parks to caves, Meghalaya is full of remarkable places to visit. One such popular tourist attraction is Mahadev Khola Dham near Shillong. Mahadev Khola Dham, believed to be around 150 years old, is a cave temple popular among Shiva devotees. It is believed that the Shiva Linga placed here was discovered by Subedar Major of the 8th Gorkha Rifles when he was exploring the area, he saw it in a dream.

Like all other Shiva temples, Mahadev Khola Dham is also a big attraction during Mahashivratri. The fact that it is in a cave also makes it interesting for adventure lovers and history buffs. There are also some other temples nearby which add to the religious importance of this place.
