Mahadev solved Narad’s doubt

One day, Narada Muni was going through the sky path chanting Narayan Narayan, when a strange question came to his mind and he reached Brahma Loka.

After reaching Brahma Loka, he prostrated himself before his revered father Brahma Ji. Seeing Narad in front of him, Brahma ji asked, tell me son! How did you come today? The expressions on your face are saying something! Any special purpose or any problem?

Narad ji replied, “Father, there is no such special purpose, but a question is nagging in my mind. I have come to know the answer from you. ,

“Then why the delay? It is better to resolve the doubts in the mind quickly! So feel free to ask your question!” – Brahmaji said.

“Father, you are the supreme father of the entire universe, gods and demons are your children. Gods are superior in devotion and knowledge, whereas demons are superior in strength and penance. But I am entangled in this question as to which of these two is better. And why did you give the gods a place in heaven and the demons in the underworld?

To know the answers to these questions, I have come to you for refuge” – Narad said while telling his question to Brahmaji.

Hearing Narad’s question, Brahmadev said, Narad, it is difficult to answer this question and I will not be able to answer it because both gods and demons are my sons and it would not be appropriate to compare my own two sons with my own mouth.

But still Lord Shiva can definitely help you in finding the answer to your question.

Taking permission from Brahmadev, Narada Muni went to Mahadev Shiva and presented his problem before him. Mahadev Shiva smiled at Narada Muni and ordered him to organize a feast for the gods and demons and send them invitations for this feast.

As per the orders of Mahadev Shiva, Narad Muni did the same and the next day along with Narad Muni, Mahadev Shiva also came to his ashram to welcome the gods and demons.

The demons reached Narad Muni’s ashram first to enjoy the food and requested Lord Shiva to allow him to have the first start of the food since he reached first.

Plates of food were served, the demons sat down to eat, they were about to start eating when Lord Shiva appeared before them with some sticks in his hand and said, “There is a small condition for today’s meal, I am here I will tie wood to both the hands of every guest present in such a way that they cannot bend at the elbow and everyone will have to eat in this position.

After some time, sticks were tied in the hands of all the demons. Now the demons started eating, but how could anyone eat in such a situation.

Some demons tried to eat directly by putting their mouth in the plate, while others tried to throw the food in the air and put it in their mouth. Seeing such condition of the demons, Narad ji could not stop laughing.

Seeing all their efforts failing, the demons got up without eating and said angrily, “If we were to be in the same condition, then why did you invite us for food? After some time, God is also going to reach here, please tie similar sticks in his hands so that we can also enjoy his plight. ,

After some time, the gods also reached there and now the gods sat for food, as soon as the gods read the food mantra, Mahadev Shiva tied sticks in everyone’s hands and also kept a condition for the food.

Dev remained calm even after his hands were tied with sticks. He had understood that it was not possible to eat food with his own hands, hence he moved forward a little, picked up food from the plate and fed it to the person in front and started eating. They were feeding each other with great affection and enjoying the food, they tasted the food thoroughly and also expressed their affection and respect towards others.

The demons started feeling very sad with this thought as to why this idea did not occur to us. Narad ji was smiling after seeing this. Narad ji said to Lord Shiva, “O Lord of gods, your leela is immense. The life of the one who uses his strategy, power and ability for altruism is better than the one who uses it for selfish purposes.
