Mahalaxmi Temple Udaipur
This ‘Mahalakshmi’ temple located in Rajasthan is more than 400 years old, the idol of the mother appeared from the churning of the ocean.
Udaipur. There is only one Mahalakshmi temple in Bhattiani Chauhta of Udaipur city of Rajasthan. Special darshan takes place here during the festival of lights. There is a four day celebration here on Deepotsav. From Dhanteras to Khekhare, there is a crowd of visitors to the temple here. The Prakrit Utsav of Mahalakshmi takes place on the Ashtami of Shraddha Paksha.
It is believed that Mahalakshmi emerged from the churning of the ocean. Kanhaiyalal Trivedi, President of Shrimali Jaati Sampati Nivas Trust, said that Mahalakshmi Temple was built during the time of the then Maharana Jagat Singh. This temple is about 400 years old. This temple was built with the stones and materials that were left over during the construction of Jagdish temple, and the Ganesh temple was built in front of the temple with the materials that were left after the construction of this temple. He told that the idol of Mahalakshmi was brought from Bhinmal. This statue is sitting on a white stone elephant. He told that Mahalakshmi is the family deity of Shrimali community. Shrimali Samaj performs electrical decoration inside and inside the temple and from Jagdish Chowk to Rang Niwas, electrical decoration is done by Bhattiani Chauhta Deepotsav Committee.
