Maheshnath Mandir Dhammaur Sultanpur
Mahadev is guarding the east and west of Sultanpur district headquarters of Uttar Pradesh. On Mahashivratri, devotion of devotees is seen in Jannarath Dham in the east and Maheshnath Dham in the west. Lakhs of devotees bow their heads at both the places of worship and perform Jalabhishek and make wishes. Baba Janwarinath Dham is situated in the middle of a dense forest in Saitapur Sarai village located in Lambhua, about 22 kilometers from the district headquarters, on the Varanasi route via Kashi Vishwanath. There is no known source for the establishment of the Shivalinga located in the temple, due to which devotees worship it as a self-manifested Shivalinga.
Devotees going to perform Jalabhishek to Baba Vishwanath first perform Jalabhishek here and then move ahead. Till date no one has been able to know when Shivlinga was established. There is no roof on this Shivalinga. It is believed that whoever tried to put a roof on the Shivalinga, bad luck happened to him, due to which the Shivalinga is still there under the open sky. People have immense faith in this Dham.
After reaching Lambhua by bus and train, one can reach Saitapur Sarai village by tempo, taxi, e-rickshaw, bike and bicycle. Many people go on foot from the town to perform Jalabhishek of Lord Bholenath. One who worships Lord Shiva here with a true heart, all his wishes are fulfilled. This Dham has remained the center of faith for the people of the area for many decades. Apart from every Monday and Saturday, a large number of devotees come to worship every day during the month of Sawan and Adhik.
