Along with its art and culture, Rajasthan is also known for its unique and historical temples. One such temple is in Mahar Kalan village located in Samod, situated amidst the Aravalli mountain range near the capital Jaipur. It is believed that there is a unique Shivling in this temple which changes its direction according to the sun every 6 months. The Shivalinga present in the temple is famous for moving according to the direction of the Sun. This historical Shivalinga is hundreds of years old.
This Shivalinga situated in the Maleshwar Mahadev temple bends in the direction according to the Sun every six months. The Sun keeps moving towards Uttarayan and Dakshinayan direction every six months. Similarly, this Shivalinga also bends in the direction of the Sun. Because of this miracle, it is a unique Shiva temple in the country.

The temple is situated at a picturesque place with natural springs.
Nestled in the lap of nature, this picturesque place is about forty kilometers away from Jaipur. Swayambhulinga is present in this temple of Vikram Samvat 1101 Karral. Where natural springs flowing during rains, water ponds, very ancient ruins nearby tell the story of mythological human civilization and culture, show the antiquity of this place. Goths are held daily during rainy days.

This is how Maleshwar Mahadev Temple got its historical name.
According to the priest of the temple, the present Maharakalan village used to be a part of the Mahishmati city of Mahabali King Sahasrabahu in mythological times. For this reason this temple was named Maleshwar Mahadev Temple. He told that Swayambhulinga is present in this temple of Vikram Samvat 1101 period. Nature is also very kind to this religious place surrounded by hills. During the rains, natural springs start flowing around the temple. Which makes the beauty of this place even more attractive.
