Motha Maruti Hanuman temple located in Lonar-Buldhana district of Maharashtra. In this temple, Lord Hanuman in sleeping position which was built out of a magnetic rock.The features of the temple is idol of Lord hauman is 9 feet ,3 inches high and 4 feet in breadth. Idol’s right foot is on the earth & under left foot there is idol of Lord shani, which is captured by Lord Hanuman’s tail. Lord Hanuman’s left hand is in japa position and right hand is blessing.

Lord Hanuman is an ardent follower of Lord Rama and is also a central character in the epic tale Ramayana. He is always worshipped along with Lord Rama and is said to assume any form. He is also revered for his mighty power, his ability to assume any form at will, to inflate or reduce to a thumbnail, his magical might to ward off evil and other troubles that his devotees face. He is the quintessence of wisdom, self-control, valour, righteousness, courage, strength and righteousness. One who prays to him will attain, power, success, prosperity, glory and strength. On this special day, Vedicfolks plans to hold the Panchamukha Hanuman homa that invokes the powers of one of the most powerful deity.

There is a small circular depression at a distance of around 700m from the main lake.The water from Ambar lake is being drained by local farmers. This lake is sometimes also called as Chhota (little) Lonar.

The Motha Maruti (Big Hanuman) temple has a Hanuman idol made of rock believed to be highly magnetic.It indicates that Lord Hanuman is magnetic.In 1841, a Ram devotee of Kanitkar family found the idol of Sleeping Hanuman lying in woods. This idol is called the first sleeping Hanuman. After removing about 20 quintal layer of Sindhoor, prettily well shaped Hanuman’s idol of 4 ft width and 9 ft 3 inch long emerged. The idol is made-up of rock believed to be the splinter of the meteor that hit the ground to also make a crater.

This temple was given as Jahagir by Nizam of Hyderabad to Kanitkar family.The temple has a secret passage up to Paphareshwar temple now in ruins.
