Lalbaugcha Raja Mumbai

Lalbaugcha Raja is one of the most visited Ganesh idols in Mumbai. The idol of Lalbaugcha Raja is designed wonderfully and it is patent protected. People believe that Lalbaugcha Raja will fulfil their wishes that is why it takes almost 20 hours to get a glimpse of this beautiful idol. Many popular celebrities and politicians visit this pandal every year. The Mandal was founded in the year 1934 and has grown gradually.


Lalbaugcha Raja is one of Mumbai’s most prominent and beloved Ganpati pandals. It is in the Central Mumbai neighborhood of Lalbaug. The Lalbaugcha Raja Pandal is famous for its huge Lord Ganesha image, which stands over 18 feet tall. Extensive lighting and floral arrangements are also used to embellish the pandal.

ANDHERICHA RAJA, SUBURBS FAMOUS GANESHA

Andhericha Raja is famous for his spectacular themes which bemuses the devotees of Lord Ganesh every year. Over the years, they have replicated temples themes like the Akshardham, Somnath, Mangueshi, Saras Baug and many more. It would be interesting so see what they come up with this year.

Andhericha Raja was founded in 1966 by Tata Special Steel and Excel Industries Limited. Every year, a huge crowd of devotees, Bollywood celebrities, and politicians come here for darshan. The immersion process is routed throughout the entire Andheri village, and it begins at 5 in the evening and reaches the seashore the next day morning.

KHETWADICHA GANRAJ MUMBAI’S TALLEST GANESH IDOL

Khetwadicha Ganraj is one of Mumbai’s tallest Ganpati pandals. It is situated in the South Mumbai neighborhood of Khetwadi. The Khetwadicha Ganraj Pandal is famous for its huge Lord Ganesha statue, which stands over 40 feet tall.

MUMBAI CHA RAJA- The Ganesh Galli pandal is well known for its unique themes which are often a replica of popular temples of India which distinguishes it from any other pandal. Mumbai Cha Raja’s fondness among the devotees is estimated a lot as it attracts more than 1.5 million people on a single day during the time of Ganesh Chaturthi. With the classification of Darshan categories in MukhDarshan and Navsachi, it gives the devotees a better understanding of making a choice about their visit plan. Just a few lanes away from Lalbuagcha Raja, Mumbaicha Raja Ganpati who fulfils the wishes of his devotees.

Ganesh Galli is located only a couple of lanes away from the Lalbaugha Raja. The Mandal was formed for the benefit of the mill workers in the year 1928 making it one of the oldest and most popular pandals in India. The pandal is known for the novel new themes every year and they often replicate famous places of India.

GSB Seva Mandal Ganpati Kings Circle, Mumbai

The GSB Seva Mandal in Mumbai’s Sion celebrates the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi for five days every year and attracts devotees not just from the city but from across the country and outside. Reported to be one of the wealthiest mandals in the city, the Ganpati idol of the GSB Seva Mandal is decorated with gold and silver ornaments.

Apart from its luxurious celebrations, the GSB Seva mandal is also popular for the community meals it serves to the visiting devotees. Living Foodz got an insider’s view of the making of the traditional Konkani delicacies served by GSB Seva mandal.

As the pooja for the day begins, the volunteers get busy with the preparations for the meals to be served which are locally called samradhana or annapurna.

GSB Seva Mandal Ganapati is considered one of the richest mandals (administrative divisions) in Mumbai. Every year the Ganesh idol is adorned with gold and silver ornaments. Thousands of devotees from across the state visit it every year to seek the blessings of the lord. This is the only pandal in Mumbai where the rituals are performed round the clock.

Chinchpokli Cha Raja, also known as Chintamani, is a “wish-fulfilling jewel” known not only for its Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations but also for its grand greeting ritual that takes place at Chinchpokli. Throughout the year, about 60% of the money collected by the Mandal is used on social services.

Girgaoncha Raja/Girgaumchya Raja Girgaum, Mumbai

Girgaoncha Raja is organized by the 84-year-old Nikadvari Lane Sarvajanik Ganesh Mandal. They always opt for an eco-friendly Ganpati idol and is usually more than 20 feet tall. Girgaoncha Raja is located near Charni road railway station.

FORT VIBHAG SARVAJANIK GANESHOTSAV MANDAL CIRCLE, FORT

Fort cha Ichcha Purti- Fort Vibhag Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal Mumbai’s most famous Ganpati pandal. Another pandal known for its grand decoration is Fortcha Icchapurti; they usually make replicas of various palaces. While last year, a large 40-feet elephant gate was made.

Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati Pune

The Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati temple is a Hindu Temple located in Pune and is dedicated to the Hindu god Ganesh. The temple is visited by over hundred thousand pilgrims every year. Devotees of the temple include celebrities and chief ministers of Maharashtra who visit during the annual ten-day Ganeshotsav festival.
