Muthappan Temple Kannur

Muthappan Temple or Parassinikkadavu Muthappan is a Hindu temple located on the banks of the Valapattanam River, about 10 kilometers from Taliparamba in the Kannur district of Kerala.The presiding deity of the temple is Sri Muthappan, who is expressed with two different characters in the form of Thiruvappan and Vellattam. According to local belief, Ishtadev is the folk deity here and is not considered a Vedic deity, but some people also associate him with Vishnu or Shiva.
