Vishnu Purana has detailed information about the locos, according to which the number of locos is 14. Name of 14 worlds in the universe and who resides in them? Name of 14 worlds and their inhabitants.

Of these, 7 lokas are called Urdhva Loka and 7 are called Adho Loka.

1 ● Earth

Friends, first of all comes what we know as Dharti Lok. Which is also called Karma Lok, where animals and human communities of 8400000 species reside. Earth is the world where humans can go on foot or by aeroplane, vehicle etc. Our entire earth is under earth, here you get to see many types of electrically operated vehicles.

2 ● Bhuvarloka

The space between the Earth and the Sun is called Earth. Space gods reside in this world.

3 ● Swarlok

In Hinduism, the Sanskrit word Niru Parvat of Swar is used for the upper world. This is the place where the person who does good deeds stays till his good deeds diminish before taking the next birth. This place is for those souls who have done good deeds but have not yet attained salvation or liberation. There is all kinds of happiness here and one is free from sins. In this area heavenly deities like Indra etc. reside. These 3 worlds are called Triloki or Tribhuvan. The jurisdiction of gods like Indra is limited to these worlds.

4 ● Mahar Lok

Friends, this is the most strange and rarest people among us. This world is one crore yojana away from the pole. Siddhagans like Bhrigu etc. reside here. This place remains in a state of mass void where normal or sinful souls remain in a stable state during the time of doomsday. It is here that during the Mahapralaya, the universe exists in the form of ashes. This world is situated between Kritak Trilok and Akritak Trilok.

5 ● Janlok

This Lok is two crore yojanas above Mahar Lok. In this world, Sanakadik etc. sages reside here and many types of scholars and ascetic sages etc. reside here.

6 ● Tapa Lok

This world is 8 crore yojanas away from Janlok. Here is the residence of a god named Viraj.

7 ● Satyalok

This world is 12 crore yojanas above Tapalok, Brahma resides here, that is, it is also called Brahmalok. The highest class Rishi Muni reside here, hence this world has a different Puranic significance as it is said in Vishnu Purana that the form of the lower three worlds is not eternal in the same way as the upper worlds are and they They get destroyed during the cataclysm.Whereas the three worlds above remain unaffected by this, hence Bhoolok, Bhuvarlok and Swarlok are called Kritak Loka and Jan Loka, Tapalok and Satyalok are called Akritak Loka, Maharlok does not get destroyed during the cataclysm but gets the commission to live, hence the residents there are called Janlok. They go away due to which Mahar Lok has been called Kritakakritaka.

Just as there are upper worlds, there are also seven lower worlds which are called underworld. The names of these seven underworlds are as follows.

8 ● Atal

It is at a depth of 10000 yojanas from our earth and its land is Sukal i.e. white. In which Asur Bal, the son of Mayadanav, the king of this underworld, has created 96 types of illusion.

9 ● Vital

It is 10 thousand yojanas below Atal and its land is Krishna i.e. Kali. In this world, Lord Hatkeshwar Mahadev Ji lives with his ghosts and councilors and he rules this world. He keeps roaming with Bhavani for the growth of Prajapati’s creation. Due to the influence of both of them, a beautiful river named Haat keeps flowing there.

10 ● bottom

It is also 10000 yojanas below Vittal. Its land is of the color of Arun i.e. the morning sun. Below Vittal Lok, there is Bali, the king of Nital Lok, whom Lord Vishnu, at the time of Vaman incarnation in Satyayuga, asked for 3 steps of earth and made him the king of Sutal Lok. made.

13 ● Sutal

It is 10000 yojanas below the Mahatal and its land style is said to be rocky. Demons and demons named Pani live here. These are also called Nivatakavach, Kaley and Hiranyapur residents.

14 ● Hades

It is 10 thousand yojanas below Sutal, its land is golden i.e. made of gold. Here live very angry and big hooded snakes like Shanda, Kulik, Mahashanda, Shweta, Dhananjay, Dhritarashtra, Shankhachuda, Kambal, Akshatar and Devdutt. All of them have five heads, some seven, some ten, some a hundred and some a thousand. The glittering and shining gems on their hoods destroy all the darkness of the underworld with their light.
(Saptapatala)

According to Hindu culture, there are mainly 14 Bhuvans or worlds in this universe – 7 upper worlds and 7 underworlds. In these the underworld is also called heaven. All these are underground in the womb of the earth. Their splendor has been described as slightly greater than that of the upper world heaven. There is no difference between day and night here.

Therefore, there is no reason for enjoyment of pleasures. The living beings living in these Saptapataal forms of thoughts always remain in bliss. The pleasures and beauty of this place have been greatly enriched by the deceitful knowledge and illusion of the demons. Of these seven underground levels..

(1) Mayasur’s son Val is the lord in Atal.

(2) In Vittal, Hatkeshwar Shankar lives in a pair house with Bhavani.

(3) Sutal is the place of the famous Bali king. These three levels are considered Apomay.

(4) Mayasura’s kingdom is in Talatal.

(5) A community of snakes named Krodhvash resides in Mahatal.

(6) Demons and demons live in the abyss. These three levels are considered fiery.

(7) The underworld is fiery and the lords of serpents live here.

(seventh heaven)

Among the seven upper worlds, (1) Bhurloka and (2) Bhuvarloka are called terrestrial heaven. Within these two, all the physical worlds like Sun, Moon, Pole, Stars, Earth etc. are included.

Among the divine heavens located above them, (3) the third world is called Mahendra heaven, (4) Maharlok is called Prajapatya heaven, (5) Janalok, (6) Tapolok and (7) Satyalok – these three worlds are called Brahma heaven. There is abundance of Satvik element in these five divine heavens and they are superior to each other.

(Jambudweep)

The various parts or sub-worlds that exist under the Earth, are considered to be different from this world because they are subtler than our physical world of death and hence are generally invisible. Among them, the Saptadweep and Sapt Samudra mentioned above are not gross, but are divisions of subtle matter around the earth.

Jambudweep is the center and the earth is in its womb. (1) Ilavrit, (2) Bhadrasva, (3) Kimpurush, (4) Bharat, (5) Hari, (6) Ketumal, (7) Ramyaka, (8) Kuru and (9) Hiranyamaya of this Jambudweep – these Nav Year means department.

Among these, Bharatvarsha is the world of death and all others are the world of gods. Among these, Ilavrit is in the middle and Mount Meru is in its navel. This mountain is not a thick stone, but a powerful pillar.

The Upasyadevs of these nine years were in the following order: (1) Shri Shankar, (2) Shri Hayagriva, (3) Shri Maruti, (4) Shri Nar-Narayan, (5) Shri Nrisimha, (6) Shri Kamdev, (7) Shri Vaivaswat Manu, (8) ) Shri Kurmaavatar and (9) Shri Yagya Purusha is Varaha.

In this Jambudweep, (1) Hell (2) Pitralok and (3) Pretalok are situated. Thus, among the 14 planets, 7 islands, 9 years and 3 worlds of our universe, the mortal world i.e. India is 1/1176th part of the entire universe and one of its nine divisions.

(hell world)

Nine years of Jambudweep were specified. Now, under the same, further details of hell world, ghost world and ancestral world are given. There is such a huge environment in the form of salt sea around this Jambudweep. Along with this, there are seven main hell worlds below Bharat Varsha. These are called Vapar Loka.

According to their Surya Nadis, 7 divisions are considered, and 27 divisions are considered according to 27 Nakshatras and 28 divisions including Abhijit. These 21 main ones are-

Hundreds of such hells have been described in other Puranas. The sins and their consequences which have been enumerated in these, have to be known only in their context. Eighty-four lakh hells have been mentioned in Sarodhar Garudpuran. It is not appropriate to elaborate further on this sensitive topic in this short article. The meaning of this description seems to be that people should abstain from sinful activities.

(fatherland)

Yama Lok is near the hell world. It is called Pitralok. In the earth world itself, the ancestors live on a regular basis in the south and under the earth and above the underground world. Our ancestors are immortal. They are different from humans. They originated separately and independently. They are also called gods. The ancestors who have died and gone up from here are Naimittik.

Yama is considered the first ancestor among the ancestors. It is their job to make proper arrangements for the dead souls. These are the guides of the dead. The ancestors have the power to regulate this world on a regular basis, that is why ancestor worship has special significance. From Rigveda to Puranas, description of ancestor worship has been found at many places.

The door to heaven is in the north-east and the door to the ancestral world is in the south-east. The paths of gods and ancestors are different. There are many classes of ancestors. It doesn’t seem that all these are in one place. There are prayers in the Vedas to the effect that the ancestors who are on earth may attain elevated status; Those who are in heaven i.e. in a higher place, may they never fall from there; And those who have taken shelter in the middle position, may they attain advanced position. In this way, Shraddha rituals are beneficial to both the doer and the ancestors, this is evident from the prayers offered during Shraddha rituals.

(ghost world)

Pretalok is situated in the near space around India. The living beings who are attracted to the earth after death. And are attracted downwards by various desires, they remain in the ghostly world for some time. Ghosts are in the form of air. And live in crematoriums, cemeteries, darkness, void and desolate places.

Some examples have been given in Manusmriti No. 12 regarding the reasons for attaining ghosts after death. But there can be other reasons besides these. Ghost, vampire, Brahmarakshas, Brahmasambandh, Jind, Betal etc. are ghost species. Their strength is less in sunlight. If they are given something to eat or drink, they are satisfied with just a whiff. Even if something is given to them mentally, they get it.

Ghosts are liberated from the ghostly world by rituals like funeral, Shraddha, Pind Daan in Gaya, Narayan-Nagabali etc. Ghostly life is considered to be a source of distress. Ghosts are sometimes seen assuming any form. Sometimes they appear in the form of lamp, flame, voice, product, circulation in one’s body etc.

With the sound of conch shell, sound, Aarti of God, recitation of mantra, remembrance of name, discussion of scriptures, sacred atmosphere, some sacred incense etc., the ghosts leave the place. Due to the presence of great restlessness, intense mental disorders, strong lust and ignorance among the creatures of the ghostly world, ghost life is very painful.

(Saptdweep)

Till here, Jambudweep has been described under the geographical category. The environment around this Jambudweep is a salt sea. Surrounding it is double Plakshadweep. Just as the name Jambudweep is named after the Jamun tree, similarly in Plakshadweep, Plaksha i.e. Pakar tree is considered.

The deity worshiped here is Surya. There is an equally big ocean of water all around this island. It is surrounded by Dvigun Shalmali Island. The moon is worshiped there. There is Somasamudra all around it. Surrounding it is Dwigun Kushdweep.

People here worship fire. Outside this is the Ghrit sea and surrounding it is Kraunchadweep. There is a mountain named Kraunch here. The people here are worshipers of the water god. There is an alkaline sea all around it and Shakadweep surrounds it. Vayu is worshiped here. There is Dadhimand-Sea all around it and Pushkardweep is surrounding it.

Pushkardweep is surrounded by pure sea. The people here wander on the path of attaining Brahma. Beyond this island is Lokalok mountain. Each of these islands has seven divisions. The rivers, mountains and folk societies here are described in the Puranas. This entire description is symbolic.

(Septalok)

Even Bhooloka has been described under Saptaloka. Above this, the second upper world is Bhuvarloka. It is between the Earth and the Sun. Siddhas and sages reside in it. On the far side of the Sun, there is heaven extending fourteen lakh yojanas till the pole. These three aforesaid worlds are considered to be perishable i.e. perishable. Above them, on the far side of the pole, is Maharlok, one crore yojana wide.

Mahatmas who live for a Kalpa live here. Above this there are two crore Yojana Janalok. Shuddhanthkaran Brahmakumar Sanandanadi Mahatma lives here. Above this is Chaturgun Tapolok. Deities like Vairaja etc. live without body there. Above Tapolok is Satyalok, the sixth world. Siddhadi sages reside there.

They are free from birth and death. In Maharlok there is control over the mental state, in Janlok there is detachment from sensual pleasures, in Tapolok there is control over the state of intellect and in Satlok there is control over the state of nature. These are the respective characteristics of these four worlds. These worlds are not accessible to ordinary humans. The first three worlds are worthy of everyone’s shelter.

Scientists consider the earth sphere as Bhurlok, the moon sphere as Bhuvarlok, the sun sphere as Swarlok, the Parmeshthi sphere as Maharlok and Janalok and the Swayambhu sphere as Tapolok and Satlok. And the astronomical Trilokya is divided in this way – from the North Pole to the South, 24 degrees is heaven, beyond that, 42 degrees of space and beyond that, 48 degrees of Earth, below that, South and 42 degrees of Pitruloka and below that, 24 degrees of hell.
