Nautapa 2024

Share

Tonight, Jyeshtha Krishna Pratipada Tithi will arrive around 7:24 PM and thus Jyeshtha month will begin from 24th May. Along with this, Nautapa will also begin with the arrival of Sun in Rohini Nakshatra from Jyeshtha Krishna Dwitiya on Saturday, 25th May. So first of all let us try to know what is called Nautapa and what are its consequences.

In the month of Jyeshtha, Lord Bhaskar appears in his fierce form right in the middle of the sky – just above the head – and the sun’s rays start falling perpendicularly on the earth. There is such severe heat that nature becomes distressed. Heat waves continue to create problems for everyone. Sometimes the temperature reaches higher than possible. And in this scorching heat come those nine days when the heat is at its peak.

The period of nine days from the time Lord Bhaskar enters Rohini Nakshatra is known as Nautapa. It can also be understood in this way that when Sun God moves between ten degrees to twenty degrees in Taurus, then this period is known as Nautapa. The Sun travels through 27 constellations for approximately fifteen days. In the same sequence, when the Sun comes to Rohini Nakshatra in the month of Jyeshtha, this period is called the period of Nautapa. Nautapa usually starts around 25th May.

As soon as Lord Bhaskar enters Rohini Nakshatra, the temperature of the earth starts increasing very rapidly. It is believed that if there is no rain in these nine days and cool breeze does not blow, then there is a possibility of good rain in the coming days. Meteorologists also call this heat wave or heat wave day. In common language this period is called Nautapa, Navtapa and Rohini.

Although there is no scientific basis for this, yet in ancient times, when meteorology was not developed, on the basis of similar astrological activities, farmers used to estimate “how much rainfall will occur this year”, which was absolutely accurate. | Ghagh’s proverbs also used to be very famous – Tapai Navtapa Nav Din Joy, Tau Pun Barkha Puran Hoy.

Even today, despite not having any scientific basis, meteorologists accept the fact that if it rains during this period, then less rainfall is seen in monsoon, and if there is good temperature during this period, then the rain is very good…

Jyeshthamase Seetapaksha Ardraadi Dashataraka: |

In the Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month, if there is rain from Ardra Nakshatra to ten Nakshatras – Ardra, Punarvasu, Pushya, Ashlesha, Magha, Purva Phalguni, Uttar Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra and Swati Nakshatras – then during the rainy season, there will be rain in these ten Nakshatras. There is no rain. On the other hand, if there is intense heat in these constellations, then there can be a possibility of good rainfall during the rainy season.

According to Astronomer Navratna Vatsa, Krittika, Rohini and Mrigashira Nakshatras come in the constellation of Taurus – “Vrishabho Bahulashesham Rohinyo’ardham Cha Mrigshirasah” – in which Krittika is considered to be owned by Sun, Rohini by Moon, and Mrigashira is considered to be owned by Mars.

The Sun provides maximum heat on these three constellations. Among these, the cold nature Rohini Kranti circle is considered to be closest to the Sun. Certainly, when the Sun will fully arrive on the cold nature Rohini, then the combination of cold and heat will increase storms etc.

This year, on Thursday, May 25, around 3:17 am before sunrise, the Sun will be mounted on Rohini Nakshatra, where it will remain till 1:05 am on June 8. Therefore, there is a possibility of extreme heat from 25th May to 8th June. Strong hot winds can also blow during this period. Nautapa – as is clear from its name – is said to be the period of the initial nine days – but in practice it has been observed that the heat is very severe on the days when the Sun remains on Rohini. One reason for this is also believed to be that the distance between the Sun and the Earth becomes very small. A few days after that, Jyeshtha Ganga Dussehra and Nirjala Ekadashi come which are on 16th and 18th June respectively this year.

If we analyze this change in nature on astrological basis, then the Sun symbolizes heat and the Moon symbolizes coldness. The ruling planet of Rohini Nakshatra is also the Moon. When the Sun transits over the moon’s constellation Rohini, this constellation is affected by the sun’s heat and the coolness of the moon does not reach the earth.Due to high temperature, events like storm also become visible. Which has a direct impact on the entire pasture. On one hand, all the vegetation starts drying up, while on the other hand, changes start taking place in the human body and due to the effect of heat wave, one has to face many physical problems. To avoid dehydration in the body, it is often advised to consume cold beverages and juicy and cool fruits like cucumber, cantaloupe, watermelon etc. during this period. Also, as much as possible, food containing fried, roasted, chillies and spices should not be consumed. Apart from this, Sheetali Pranayama is considered useful to avoid summer heat.

Due to the Sun transiting through Rohini Nakshatra, the chances of extreme heat, dust storm, rain etc. increase, hence any kind of social activities or distant journeys were prohibited. But nowadays there are so many resources in every field that all these things do not have any special impact on people’s lives.

In the end we will say that no matter what the weather is, the one who has to walk on the path cannot remain afraid of the weather or the seasons. Therefore, it is our wish that we all bear the heat of Nautapa like an ascetic and move forward on our respective paths by consuming cool beverages and juicy fruits to avoid the ill effects of the heat…
