The Panchmukhi Shiva temple of Shimla hill is the center of faith of the devotees. Every day hundreds of devotees pay obeisance at the temple. There is a lot of splendor in the month of Sawan. From morning to evening, devotees come to the temple for Jalabhishek and devotees also perform special worship after bathing the Shivalinga with water and milk. Devotees are offering prayers in different temples of the city in the morning and evening.
History of the temple
Panchmukhi Lord Shiva Temple Shimla Hill is quite ancient. It is about 200 years old. It is believed that the wishes of the devotees who worship Shiva and light the lamp here in the month of Sawan are fulfilled, hence devotees from far away places come to worship Shiva in the month of Sawan. Here God is present in Panchmukhi form.Around 450 to 500 devotees are paying their respects every day. Apart from this, the idols of Ram Darbar, Lord Hanuman, Santosh Mata, Lord Parshuram, Lakshmi Narayan, Mata Saraswati, Durga Mata, Kali Mata, Radhe Krishna, Lord Ganesha, Nandi Ji, Sheetala Mata, Shanidev and Bhairon are established in the temple.

Vijay Kumar told that from 1953 to 1990, his father Pandit Karmchand operated the temple and since then till now he himself is engaged in service. The doors of the temple open at four in the morning and every day Lord Shiva is adorned and worshiped with the paste of bill paper, hemp, milk, raw lassi, Dhatura, Akshat and sandalwood. Every year Bhandara is organized at the end of Sawan fair. Sankirtan takes place in Ram Darbar from seven thirty to eight o’clock.
