Rampur: Pataleshwar Mahadev Temple of Bhamraua is a symbol of Ganga-Jamuni culture.

Lord Bholenath appeared in the form of Shivling in the year 1788, Nawab Ahmed Ali had laid the foundation of the temple in the year 1822.

Rampur: Shri Pataleshwar Mahadev Temple is located in village Bhamarua, which is about four kilometers away from the railway and bus stand. You can easily go to the temple by e-rickshaw or your own vehicle etc. History- Earlier there was barren land in place of the temple. Mahadev appeared in the form of Shivalinga in the year 1788.

Shri Pataleshwar Mahadev Temple located at Bhamraua is very ancient and historical. This temple is said to be a symbol of Ganga Jamuni culture. Nawab Ahmed Ali laid the foundation of the temple in 1822. The special thing is that there is Muslim population all around the temple. Muslim people also come here to visit the temple.

In the year 1788, Lord Bholenath had personally appeared in the form of Shivalinga. Shivalinga could not be identified due to the presence of Muslim population nearby. Many villagers unknowingly used Shivalinga to sharpen their tools. People also got to see its side effects. When the then Nawab Saheb Ahmed Ali came to know about Shivling, he laid the foundation of the temple in 1822. Along with this, he donated several acres of land to the temple. There were no Brahmins because of the Muslim population nearby.

Pandit Dayal Das was called from village Majhra Mobinpur of Chamraua development block and was given the responsibility of the temple. From generation to generation his ancestors have been looking after the Pataleshwar Mahadev temple. It is said that every Monday hundreds of devotees come to see Mahadev. On Mondays of Sawan, lakhs of devotees offer water here.
