PATALESHWAR TEMPLE HAMIRPUR
An ancient Shiva temple on the banks of river Yamuna in the central east of Hamirpur city has a history of hundreds of years, which is famous by the name of Pataleshwar Temple. This temple also belongs to the Maratha era and is built without rebar and cement. It is believed that performing Jalabhishek of the Patli Shiva Linga of the temple with the water of river Yamuna provides great peace of mind and body. On the third Monday of the month of Sawan, people come from all over the city and worship with rituals.
This temple is situated on the banks of Yamuna river in Hamirpur. This temple is ancient and of Lord Bholenath which is known as Pataleshwar.
The temple built on the banks of river Yamuna in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh is of Maratha period, which is famous by the name of Pataleshwar Temple. A few decades ago, this temple was completely submerged in the severe floods of Yamuna and Betwa rivers, yet the temple did not move from its place.
Situated between Yamuna and Betwa rivers in Hamirpur city, this Pataleshwar temple was built during the Maratha period. Its dome and monastery are so strong that two years ago there was no impact from the lightning that fell on the ground 20 feet away, while the walls of nearby residential houses cracked.
