Patthar Shivala Biswan,Sitapur
This huge Shiva temple in Prayagraj is made of sixty thousand maunds of stone, Shivling was established by 150 pundits.
Sitapur. A Shiva temple is established in Biswan town, about 32 kilometers from the district headquarters. The white Shivalinga installed in this Shiva temple is said to be the largest Shivalinga in North India. People come to this Shiva temple every day from far away places and it is believed that all the wishes of the people who come here are fulfilled. The priest looking after the temple says that this temple is known as Stone Shivala.
Bholenath came in a dream
Devotees coming here say that King Vishambhar Nath Singh of Rampurkala, adjacent to Biswan town, had seen Lord Shiva in his dream and in his dream, Lord Shiva had asked him to build a temple. After which, in 1914, King Vishambhar Nath had ordered sixty thousand maunds of stone from Prayagraj and the construction work of a grand temple started with this stone. The king died some time after the construction of the temple and after that his wife Ramkali completed the construction of the temple.
125 Pandits installed Shivalinga
It is believed that 150 pundits were brought from Rajasthan to install the Shivalinga of this temple. By whom this huge Shivalinga was installed by chanting Mrityunjaya. This temple is also known as Stone Shivala. This stone Shiva temple has become the center of special faith and reverence of the devotees due to its grandeur, architecture, art and huge Shivalinga. Hundreds of devotees come here every day for darshan.
