Share

This ancient temple, rich in history and spiritual significance, houses numerous Hindu deities. A serene destination for devotees and tourists alike, it offers both blessings and timeless beauty. There are two historic inscriptions on the temple premises that are depicted on a bell. One of the inscription has been deciphered and is believed to be placed by Bhimshen Thapa, another inscription which is believed to be much older than the Bihmesn Thapa, is yet to be deciphered.

Pindeshwor Temple is situated in Dharan Sub-Municipality in Sunsari District of east Nepal. On every Monday in the month of Shraavana, a large number of devotees from different places come bare foot to pay homage to Lord Shiva with holy water from Koshi River. It is believed that a devotee’s wishes will come true if they offer water from Saptakoshi and Koka River in the Barahachetra temple and water from Kaushiki Tat in the Pindeshwor Shivalaya. In the Pindeshwor Temple the oil lamps are kept burning incessantly

People say, temple building is around 1000 years old and real temple deity is more than 5000 years old. Historically this place is important and if you are real devotee of Lord shiva then you must visit this place.
