113 year old Shiva temple of Barnala is the center of faith of the devotees, every wish is fulfilled.

Fakir Chand had brought Shivalinga from Kanshi to Barnala barefoot, placing it on his head. Therefore, the then Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala had given the title of Chaudhary to Ramji Das, brother of Fakir Chand, who was looking after the temple.

The ancient Shiva temple located near the railway station is 113 years old. Phalgun month fair is held here in Sawan. During this period, along with political, social and common people, devotees from far and wide come to visit daily. This Shiva temple is famous far and wide. Lord Shiva fulfills all the wishes of any true devotee who bows down here.

The temple is known as Chaudhary

In this temple, Fakir Chand had brought the Shivalinga barefoot from Kashi to Barnala by placing it on his head and installed this Shivalinga in the temple. Therefore, the then Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala had given the title of Chaudhary to Ramji Das, brother of Fakir Chand, who was looking after the temple.From then till now this temple is also known as the Chaudhary Temple. Shivalinga was installed in the temple in such a way that the first rays of the sun fell on it.

Long queues of devotees form in the temple

In the month of Sawan itself, Kanwariyas bring Ganga water from Haridwar on foot. Jalabhishek of Shivalinga is done with this Ganga water. There is a constant flow of Shiva devotees in the temple every day. On Mondays there are long queues of devotees in the temple. Fairs and bhandaras are organized on Maha Shivaratri and Shivaratri of Sawan.
