The history of the temple is interesting
Pappu Thakur, Deputy Secretary of the Temple Trust, tells about the history of the temple that a moneylender from Rajkheda had brought this Shivling from the Narmada river of MP. This Shivalinga was to be established in Rajkheda. During night rest they stopped at Rajpur octroi area. He had a dream at night that Bhole Baba’s Shivalinga should be installed here, but the moneylender did not believe the dream.
the bullock cart could not move
As soon as they were about to take Shivlinga with the bullock cart, the bullock cart was not able to be pulled. Suddenly Shivling fell from the bullock cart and settled on the ground. Even after many efforts the Shivalinga did not rise from there. After which Rajeshwar Mahadev Temple was built at this place.
A fair is held here in Saavan
A fair is held here on the first Monday of Sawan, in which a crowd of thousands of people gathers. In the month of Sawan, the doors of the temple open at four in the morning. The temple remains open till 10.30 pm. On normal days, the temple remains closed from 1 to 3.30 pm for the Lord’s sleep. The temple remains open the whole day during Sawan and Navratri. On the first Monday of Sawan, about 300 kanwars and about 400 kalashes of water are offered to the temple.
This is a mythological belief
Rajeshwar Temple located on Shamsabad Road, Rajpur Chungi in Agra is about eight hundred and fifty years old. This temple also has mythological importance and there is also a belief here. The Shivalinga installed in the temple changes its color three times a day. It is said that during the morning Mangala Aarti, its color appears white, during the afternoon Aarti it is light blue and during the evening Aarti, the Shivling appears pink.
