Prasat Bei Siem Reap,Cambodia
Prasat Bei is another Hindu temple built by King Yasovarman I. It was built in the early part of the 10th century and dedicated to Shiva. The name translates as the “three towers”.
Prasat Bei is a temple with three brick towers in a north-south row, facing to the east, and standing on a laterite platform. The central tower contained a linga; the flanking towers reach no higher than the doorways. Only the lintels of the central and south towers were carved, both showing Indra on the elephant Airavata.
The small temple is located very near to Phnom Bakheng, Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat.
Three temples or in Khmer – Prasat Bei – is named after its three-standing monument. Very similar to Kravan temple on the other opposite side of Angkor complex.
Prasat Bei is the Hindu Temple on a straight line of 3 temples begining with Prasat Bay Kaek, then Prasat Joul Moin; and the last one is Prasat Bei. Prasat in Khmer word means Castle, Bei means Three ( 3 )
Prasat Joul Moin is a Hindu temple locating in a straight line between Prasat Bei and Prasat Bay Kaek which you can see in the front or back of the other two temples.
