This temple is of Ramayan period, it is believed that when Ram killed Ravan, everyone was a brahmin because Ravan was a brahmin, here Jamvant ji or Angad ji did penance of Shiva and then Shiva ji died. To make them happy with penance and to liberate them from hatred of Brahma, this is the place where Putikeshwar Madev was established.
