Pushpadanteshwar Mahadev (77/84) Kartik Chowk, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh

This temple is visible from the top of the valley on Kaka Ramchandra Raghuvanshi Marg in the post office street of Pandariba. Its main gate is made of iron channel, as soon as we enter inside, there is a linga situated in the middle of a black stone reservoir on our left side.

There is an entrance gate of only four and a half feet east facing ancient stone pillars, inside which there is a square water reservoir made of marble about 5 feet wide, in the middle of which a one foot high divine and large Linga of about 4 feet boundary (circumference) is established. This penis is sticking up from above, only the ends are slightly lifted.

Among the 84 lingas of Mahadev located in Ujjain, perhaps such a big linga has been seen in only one or two temples. In the sanctum sanctorum, a two and a half feet high vermillion decorated idol of Parvati is installed in the front and of Ganeshji on the left side. The floor and half of the wall are inlaid with marble, while the upper wall is made of very ancient dark black stones. Story of the greatness of the penis – In ancient times, a Brahmin named Shini performed severe penance for twelve years with his arms and legs raised upward to have a son. Due to his penance, the mountains started moving and the earth started trembling, then Parvati said to Mahadev, why are you not giving a son to the Brahmin? Then Mahadev called the Ganas to give a son to Vipra and to glorify Parvati. Devadhidev asked them to accept the sonship of a Brahmin, everyone became face down. Mahadev cursed Pushpadant for his unpleasant behavior and ordered Veerak to become a Brahmin son.

On the other hand Pushpadant started crying. Coming in surrender to the Lord, he said, O God! I am ignorant, humble and humble. Devotee and son are equal, forgive me. Then I asked Pushpadanta to go to Mahakal forest and worship the Linga which is famous in your name. You will get desired benefits from Linga Darshan. Mahadev also came with him to Mahakal forest. Linga was pleased by the worship of Pushpadant and adopted his name. Mahadev embraced Pushpadant and made him sit in his lap.

If a person sees Pushpadanteshwar Linga in the morning, he becomes free from all sins and gets the benefits of Ashwamedha Yagya. One who sees this Linga daily will enjoy all the pleasures on earth and will be born as the universal king on the earth.
