Ram Kund/Shree Ram Kund Phati Khan,Banswara,Rajasthan
There is a place called Ramkund in Banswara, Rajasthan, where Shri Ram is sitting with Janaki, Lakshman and Hanuman in a cave in the middle of the mountain.
Ramkund is about 20 kilometers from Banswara district headquarters. There are statues of Shri Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman inside a cave on a high hill. There are deep caves at some distance in front of it. Statues of gods and goddesses are installed in them, some of which are also broken. There is also a Shivalinga along with the idols of Ganesha. High stairs have been built for the visitors to reach. Due to the efforts of Ramkund Development Committee, community buildings etc. have also been built here.
It is believed that Lord Shri Ram came here during his exile and established Shivalinga. After reaching Ramkund, this Shivalinga is visible in the cave after descending the stairs. Which is worshiped regularly even today. There is also an ancient statue of Lord Ganesha in front of Shivling. It is believed that while passing through this place during her exile, Mother Sita felt thirsty. There were hilly areas and forests all around. There was no water nearby. On this God performed Shar Sandhaan. Due to this, a part of the mountain was cut and with the gushing of water, a pond was formed below, which is called Ramkund. Water drips from the mountain rocks, which turns into a stream and fills the pond. The water in this pond is also pure. During rainy days, the natural beauty of this place covered with greenery fascinates everyone. One end of the caves from Ramkund also goes to Bhimkund.
