A stream of water had emerged here from the arrow of Lord Shri Ram during his exile, it is still present today.
Khandva. There is a very ancient pond in Khandwa by the name of Rameshwar Kund. There is a legend that during his exile, Lord Shri Ram had created this pond using an arrow. During 14 years of exile, when Shri Ram came to Khandwavan i.e. present day Khandwa, when Mother Sita felt thirsty, Lord Ram created a pond with the hit of an arrow. Since then this pond was named Rameshwar Kund. This pond has now taken the form of a well and quenches the thirst of the entire city.
