Rameshwar Nath Mahadev Temple,Kabir Nagar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan

Jodhpur. The unbroken flame has been burning in the ancient Shiva temple Rameshwar Siddhpeeth located outside Chandpol for the last 200 years. The temple is crowded with devotees during Mahashivratri and throughout the month of Shravan. There are also statues of Mother Parvati, Suryadev, Ganapati and Navagraha in Siddhapeeth. The Mughal army destroyed the Rameshwar temple twice but the idols of the sanctum sanctorum miraculously remained safe. According to historians of Jodhpur, a temple was built outside Chandpol in 1538 during the time of Rao Maldev.
