Buxar’s Rameshwar Nath temple has 13 lakh years old history.
Shri Rameshwarnath Temple located at Ramrekha Ghat is one of the religious heritages. Devotees not only from the country but also from abroad come here to see and worship Rameshwar Nath Mahadev. The description of this very ancient temple can be read and heard in religious texts also.

Rameshwar Nath temple located in Siddhashram, the city of Vishwamitra, is counted among the ancient temples here. The glory of this temple established at Ramrekha Ghat on the banks of Ganga is also unmatched. It is believed that Lord Ram himself established this temple. Because of which its name is Rameshwar Nath Temple. The great saint of Buxar, Pujya Shrimannarayan Das, used to call him Bhaktamali Upakhya Mama Ji. This temple was built when God came here again. That means Lord Ram had come for the first time then. When he was a teenager. Then he killed Tadka and saved Ahilya.

The second time he came when he killed Ravana. He was found guilty of Brahma murder. He was told that Siddha Ashram was the sacred place. This defect will be eliminated by going and worshiping wherever you go. Shri Ram here and at Ramrekha Ghat where he once took bath with Vishwamitra Muni. There he made a Shivalinga and worshiped it. It is said that by visiting Rameshwar temple, the sin of killing a Brahmin is completely destroyed. This temple was neglected for a long time. But currently it is being renovated. Devotees keep coming here every day. Shiva devotees come here from far and wide during Sawan.

Due to the northern channel of Ganga, people also come here to collect water. At the time of Makar Sankranti, thousands of devotees come to Nepal. They say that the consecration of Lord Pashupati Nath is done with Ganga water taken from here. There is a very big bell in the temple. Probably this is the biggest bell in the district. People say that before the British rule, the 40 maund bell was installed by the Queen of Dumraon. After the puja, he used to hear the sound of the bell. Only then she would take food.

The priest of Rameshwar Nath temple told that the history of Shri Rameshwarnath temple situated on the banks of Ramrekha Ghat on the banks of Ganga is about 13 lakh years ago. This temple was established by Lord Shri Ram himself. He told that after making the Yagya of Maharishi Vishwamitra successful, Lord Shri Ram, after reaching Ramrekha Ghat and taking bath in the Ganga, established a Shivalinga with the soil of Ganga to worship Lord Shiva. Which is today known as Rameshwarnath Temple. It is believed that whichever devotee prays with a true heart in this temple, Lord Rameshwarnath definitely fulfills his wishes.
