River Shiv Mandir Golakganj,Dakhin Tokererchara Pt.III,Assam
Shiv Mandir is situated on the banks of Gangadhar river towards the west of Dhubri. The temple is situated at the extreme end of Assam. The temple is almost 500 years old. On one side of the temple is the border of Bangladesh and on the other side is the border of Bengal. The temple was renovated by Shiv Verma. The black coloured Shivling in the temple is self-manifested. A fair is held here on the day of Shivratri. On that day, Naag (snake) and Naagin (female serpent) come and drink milk and then leave. Chandak Puja is performed near the temple, in which a person is hung on a tree after inserting an iron rod in his back and is rotated.
