The most holy temple of Bettiah locality, belongs to lord Shiva recently known as Manokamna Mahadev. It was built by a Bhumiyar jaitiya clan Maharaja Harendra Kishore, as his wife Maharani Janki kuar was very devotional lady, visited this temple regularly in morning with her 108 maids ( dashis). She took bath in the pond, Sagar Pokhara and performed elaborated rituals in the garvagrih of this temple. This temple has a great secret and is a great example of civil engineering, that it was built on a raised citadel at the west ghat of the Sagar Pokhara pond and the stairs across this end were so built to reflect the first sun ray of this altitude that fell on the pond water over the SHIV LINGA. In the Garva Griha the main deity or God Shiva is located in the middle and is surrounded by the Panchayat of many other deities like Ganesh, Kartikeya with mata Parvati, Shiv-Parvati, Surya, lord Vishnu and Lakshmi, Bajrangbali, maa Durga and kal vairao. A small temple of Mangal Mahadev is built at the front of the main temple.

This is a most known place in over all Bettiah city. There is a famous Shiva temple situated at the bank of Sagar pokhra that’s why people called Sagar pokhra Shiva temple or mandir. Time to time worship & Jalabhishek at here is very famous & in very discipline manners.
The timing of jalabhisek are as below.
1 ) 05:30 Am to 06:30 Am by local people
2) 08:00 Am to 09:00 Am by local Brahmins
Shivratri of this place is known in very well manners & famous. During Shivratri a Julush or men chain with DJ & musical instruments reach to Kali baag situated at the west side of Bettiah & return back as barati of Shree Shiva Mahadev to Sagar pokhra Shiva temple. Then local people enjoy whole night function of Shivaratri. On every Monday from morning 08:00 Am an exclusive Jalabhisek begins & gethering of local peoples in larg count. You can participate even an evening aarti at 06:00 pm also.
