Secrets of Shivalinga?
In every Shivalaya or temple of Lord Shiva, you must have seen that people worship him in the form of a round stone which is found in the sanctum sanctorum of the place of worship.
Mahadev Shiva is not only worshiped in India and Sri Lanka, but there are many countries in the world where worshiping the idol of Lord Shiva or his symbol Shivalinga is prevalent. Earlier, Lord Shiva was revered everywhere in the world, thousands of proofs of this can be seen even today.
Shivalinga in Rome:- In ancient times, worship of Shiva and his symbol Shivalinga was prevalent in European countries also. The Italian city Rome is one of the oldest cities in the world. In ancient times in Rome, Shivalinga was worshiped as “Prayapas” by the residents there. During excavations in the Vatican city of Rome, a Shivalinga was also found which is kept in the Gregorian Etruscan Museum.
The shape of Vatican city located in Rome city of Italy is like Shivalinga, the ancient form of Lord Shiva, which seems to be a surprise. Remains of many objects related to the worship of Shiva have also been found in the ancient cities of Palmyra, Nimrud etc. which were recently destroyed by the Islamic State.
Shivalinga in ancient civilization:-
According to archaeological findings, evidence of worship of Shivalinga has also been found in the ancient cities of Mesopotamia and Babylon.
Apart from this, remains of objects related to the worship of Lord Shiva have also been found in Mohenjodaro and Harappa civilization. When different civilizations were being born, all the people were dependent on nature and animals, hence in ancient times they used to worship Lord Shiva in the form of Pashupati deity, the protector of animals.
Ancient Shivalinga in Ireland :-
A long oval mysterious stone like Shivalinga of Lord Shiva has been kept at Tar Hill place in Ireland, which is called by the people here as the stone that bestows luck. According to an ancient document written by French monks between 1632 and 1636 AD, this stone was installed at this place by four supernatural people.
Shivalinga in Africa :-
In a cave named Sudwara in South Africa, archaeologists have found an approximately 6000 year old Shivalinga of Mahadev Shiva, which was made of hard granite stone. The people of the archeology department who discovered this Shivalinga are surprised as to how this Shivalinga can remain safe till now?
Configuration of Shivalinga:-
Shivalinga mainly has three parts, the first part which remains underground from all sides. There is a similar seating area in the central part on eight sides. Finally, its top part, which is oval and which is worshipped. The height of this Shivalinga is one third of the entire circle or circumference. These three parts symbolize Brahma at the bottom, Vishnu in the middle and Shiva at the top.

And there is a point which is equally represented on Shivalinga. After understanding the scientific mystery of the universe, ancient sages and sages explained it in various forms to present its truth, of which Shivalinga is also one.
Meaning of Shivling:- Shivling displays both the creative and destructive powers of Lord Shiva. Shivlinga means “light of creation” i.e. the eternal form of Lord Shiva. sun, sky, universe, And the reason behind it being the symbol of the formless great man is that according to the Vedas, it is Jyotirlinga i.e. ‘Vyapak Brahmatmalinga’ which means ‘widespread light’. According to Shivpuran, Brahma, Maya, Jiva, mind, intellect, chitta, ego, sky, air, fire, water and earth have been called Jyotirlinga or Jyoti Pinda. Called Shivalinga. The shape and form of Shivalinga is similar to that of the Akash Ganga roaming in Brahmand. This Shivalinga is a symbol of the objects moving in our universe.
Types of Shivling:- Mainly there are two types of Shivling, first is celestial or meteor Shivling and second is mercury Shivling. The first is a black oval like a meteorite.
This type of Shivalinga is located in the Kaaba of Mecca
Which had fallen from the sky, which is called Shivalinga in Hindu religion. The second Parad Shivalinga is made of man-made mercury. Which is called Parad Shivalinga.

It is Vedic science. Apart from this, 6 types of Shivalinga have been described in the Puranas. Which is as follows –
1. Dev Ling :-
The Shivalinga which is established with medicines is called Dev Linga. At present, originally and traditionally this type of Shivalinga is worshiped for the gods.
2. Asur Linga :-
The Shivalinga which was worshiped by demons was called Asura Linga. Ravana had also established a similar Shivalinga. Like Ravana, there were many demons who were devotees of Lord Shiva and Lord Shiva never discriminates among his devotees.
3. Arsh Linga :-
In ancient times, the Shivalingas which were worshiped by sages were called Arsha Linga.
4. Purana Linga:- Shivalingas established by individuals in the mythological era were known as Purana Linga.
5. Human Shivalinga:- At present, Shivalinga, the symbol of Lord Shiva, made by humans is called man-made Shivalinga.
6.Swayambhu Linga :-
The place where Lord Shiva automatically appeared in the form of a Linga for some reason is called Swambhu Linga.
