Shani Dev Dham, located in Kushfara village near Vishwanathganj, Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, is a revered temple dedicated to Lord Shani, the deity associated with justice and karma. Situated approximately 16 km from Pratapgarh city. it attracts devotees from across the region.
The temple was established in 1985 by Swami Parma Maharaj, who discovered a self-manifested (Swayambhu) black stone idol of Shani Dev in the Kushfara forest. This idol is enshrined on the banks of the Bakulahi River, adding to the temple’s serene ambiance .
Devotees visit the temple to seek relief from the adverse effects of Shani dosha and to fulfill their wishes. A significant ritual is held every Saturday, where 56 types of dishes are offered to Lord Shani. The temple also celebrates festivals like Navratri and organizes a grand Rath Yatra on the third day of Kartik month .
The temple complex also houses Hanuman and Manokamana temples, enhancing its spiritual significance. The tranquil setting, combined with the temple’s rich history and rituals.
It is said that by seeing the god of justice here, all the wishes of a human being are fulfilled. He also gets relief from the wrath of Shani. Devotees from many districts of the state come to this temple which is on the tourism map of the state for darshan and worship. Huge crowds gather at the temple on Saturdays. The temple of the god of justice is built on the side of Bakulahi temple. Shanidham temple located in Kushfara of Vishwanathganj market on the way from Prayagraj to Pratapgarh was established in 1985 in Katra Med of Pratapgarh district.
