Have darshan of two Shivalingas in this temple, Mahadev is seen in formless and formless form.

Saharanpur is full of ancient religious places. Among these, there is Shakla Puri Mahadev Temple in the district. Regarding the Shivalinga located in the temple, it is believed that it is a self-created Shivalinga. It is also believed that this Shivalinga is thousands of years old. The priest of the temple said that many adept men have performed penance here in ancient times and even today the wishes of the devotees who pray to this Shivalinga are fulfilled.

Regarding the Shakalapuri Mahadev Temple located in Saharanpur district, it is believed that this Shivalinga is five thousand years old. Regarding this place, the elders say that this is a self-proclaimed Shivalinga. The establishment of the temple is also very ancient. Many accomplished men have performed penance here and even today devotees from far and wide come and worship in the Shiva temple for fulfillment of their wishes. On Shivratri, thousands of devotees perform Jalabhishek on Swayambhu Shivalinga and during the holy month of Saavan, hundreds of devotees perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva every day and worship him.

There are two Shivalingas located in this temple.
Priest Ishaan ji told that- There are two Shivalingas in this thousands of years old temple. It is believed that from one Shivlinga one can see the corporeal form of Lord Shiva, while on seeing the other Shivlinga one can see the formless form of Lord Shiva. He told that these two Shivalingas are seen at 180 degrees to each other. The priest told that on the occasion of Shivratri a huge fair is organized in this temple. Where devotees come from far and wide to worship Lord Shiva.

Ganga appeared behind the temple
The priest further told that – Mother Ganga had appeared behind the Shaklapuri Mahadev Temple on the call of Baba Lal Das. He said that it is believed that Baba Lal Das ji used to worship Mother Ganga along with Lord Shiva. Once, after worshiping Mother Ganga, wherever he sprinkled Ganga water, Mother Ganga disappeared there. The priest told that for this reason the devotees have unwavering faith in this Mahadev temple with the self-proclaimed Shivalinga.
